spring

this is what we're all waiting for, buttercups and daisies and warm green grass. we change the clocks to summertime in two weeks and i'm counting down the hours. it's getting lighter for everyday. i've been entering my dogs for trials around the country. can't wait :0) my new dog chip will be in sweden soon. a nicely bred dog from derek scrimgeour. by derks bob out of a granddaughter to dereks lyn. can be a really exciting combination. i'm going to a clinic for derek in 2 weeks with don-liz pup ben. a really nice dog with a lot of scope. more news in a couple of weeks

wet feet

you just need to read the title to understand that the snows melting. i have problems with my feet and have difficulty wearing wellies. i just can't walk in them. anyway ben, one of don/liz pups was hear today for training and i had 4 sessions out in the small field with him. after the first session my boots felt as if they weighed 5 kg each. the snow's turning to water and it's just a very large puddle out there. it was just to go in and change to another pair and of course even more wet feet but not quite so heavy. after the last session i had to walk my own dogs and as liz is in season that means walk X 2 every time. i thought i'd change to my wellies as they were the only dry foot apparell left. i have silicone heals to have in my shoes and of course it's hard to get my foot into a boot with them in so i put on one pair of socks then the heals and then another pair of socks. i knew straight away i'd be in agony before i got back, i felt like i was walking on broken glass. i only managed a short walk with liz and now i'm sitting on the chair with my feet up. it'll be better by tomorrow, i hope

this is what it looked like a couple of weeks ago, pretty cold. well at last we have spring in the air. the evenings are lighter, it's still light at 6 o'clock and the birds are chirping like mad at the moment. there's still quite a lot of snow but if it stays this mild (+4) and keeps raining it should be gone in a couple of weeks, but then that's me and wishfull thinking.
